Q&A:

Can I use multiple physical SIM cards at the same time?

No, international visitors can only register one SIM card at a time. All SIM cards support top-ups, so you will have enough data, SMS, and call minutes throughout your trip in China. Please remember to top up within the validity period to avoid expiration.

How do I top up my SIM card?

You can top up via WeChat Pay and Alipay. Simply enter your phone number and the desired top-up amount, and the funds will be credited quickly after the payment.

Are there compatibility issues for foreign phones using a China SIM card?

Yes, compatibility may vary. For example, China Mobile’s network primarily uses TD-LTE technology, which is not supported by all foreign phones. Therefore, it’s essential to check whether your device supports the required TD-LTE bands (bands 39, 40, and 41).

How can I ensure my smartphone can use a China SIM card?

Check your smartphone’s specifications to make sure it supports the network technologies used in China, such as FDD-LTE and TD-LTE. You may also need to confirm that your carrier has unlocked your device.

How to check if your phone supports specific network standards:

1. **Check via phone system settings (most convenient):** Go to **Settings** > **About Phone** > **Status Information/SIM Card Status** or **Dual SIM & Mobile Network**, and look for the list under “Network Type,” “Supported Bands,” or “Preferred Network Type.” If it shows **TD-LTE**, **LTE TDD**, or specific bands like **B34/B38/B39/B40/B41**, it confirms support.

2. **Check IMEI and MEID codes on the phone** Dial *#06# to get the IMEI. If the parameter field displays the TD-LTE standard, it means the phone supports it.

3. **Check the phone packaging and manual** The front or side of the packaging box usually clearly shows the network standards supported. If it lists TD-LTE, the phone supports it.

Is this SIM card official and reliable?

Absolutely! This card is provided by mainland operators authorized by the official authorities. After activation, you can verify it through the operator’s official customer service with complete confidence.

How do I activate this SIM card? Can I use it immediately?

This card must be activated before use. You can have it activated at the airport counter or with the help of a dedicated staff member after you get off the plane. Counters are available at Shanghai Pudong/Hongqiao Airport, Beijing Capital/Daxing Airport, Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, and Chengdu Tianfu Airport. Staff will assist you one-on-one with the activation.
