Top of Mount Emei
The quickest way to go from Chengdu to Mount Emei (Emeishan in Chinese) is to take a high speed train.
At least 11 pairs of high speed trains are on service daily between Chengdu and Emeishan. At a distance of 160 kilometers (99 miles), it takes only an hour to travel by a bullet train.
Most of the trains departing from Chengdu East (Dong) Railway Station, a few from Chengdu South Railway Station. In Emeishan, there is only one railway staion named Emeishan Railway Station.
Best Time to Visit Mount Emei
The best time to visit Mount Emei is spring and autumn, which is good for hiking. In spring and autumn, the temperature is between 2 ℃ and 8 ℃. If you are going to hiking, take a light coat with you.
Mount Emei in Winter
In summer time, there are occational rains; while in winter, the mountain will be covered with snow.
High-Speed Train Timetable between Chengdu and Emeishan
Most of the trains between Chengdu and Emeishan are intercity trains that are numbered with letter "C". This type of trains usually only serve short-distance line, and their speed is slower than G-train or D-train.
