Uniqueness of Huangling Station
The design of the station draws inspiration from the concept of the Yellow Emperor as “the Ancestral Founder of Chinese Civilization and the soul of the Nation,” reflecting Huangling County’s historic role as the site of the Mausoleum of the Yellow Emperor.
Regarded as the foundational ancestor of the Chinese nation, the Yellow Emperor is honored through a design that is both solemn and majestic. The architecture incorporates traditional features such as uplifted eaves and angular roofs, which blend cultural heritage with modern transportation infrastructure.
Inside, the waiting hall continues the New Han-style aesthetic. The ceiling features a traditional caisson structure, arranged in three layered tiers that create a rhythmic sense of depth. Three key-pattern caissons form the visual core, symbolizing the philosophical belief that “From One comes Two, from Two comes Three, and from Three comes all things,” representing the infinite vitality of Chinese culture.

About the Mausoleum of the Yellow Emperor Scenic
The scenic area consists of two main parts: the Xuanyuan Temple at the foot of Qiaoshan Mountain and the Mausoleum of the Yellow Emperor at its summit.
The Ancient Cypress Grove here is the oldest, largest, and best-preserved of its kind in China, with over 80,000 trees—over 30,000 of which are over a thousand years old. Among them, the “Yellow Emperor’s Hand-Planted Cypress” is believed to have been planted by the emperor himself 5,000 years ago, making it possibly the world’s oldest cypress tree. At the heart of the site lies the Sacrifice Square, a spacious venue capable of accommodating thousands of people. During major ceremonies, the space resonates with traditional music and chanting, as participants perform rituals that have been passed down through the millennia.
After visiting the Xuanyuan Temple, visitors can either take a shuttle bus or hike up Qiaoshan Mountain to reach the mausoleum. The Hall of the Ancestral Founder serves as the main hall for paying homage to the Yellow Emperor. The mausoleum mound crowns the top of the Mountain and covers about 200 square meters. Its circular earth mound is set upon a square platform, reflecting the ancient concept of “Round Heaven, Square Earth,” symbolizing the harmony between heaven and earth.
