Wuhai Railway Station is the largest railway passenger hub in western Inner Mongolia. Adopting the operation mode of 'high and low construction, upper and lower exit', this mode means that passengers enter and wait for trains from the ground level, and then exit through the underground level and transfer to other modes of transportation. It is the first railway station in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to achieve a three-dimensional 'seamless transfer'.

The waiting hall at Wuhai Station has a capacity of over 3,000 people. During the holiday travel peak, the daily passenger flow is expected to reach 2,000. Primary destinations include Beijing, Hohhot, and Yinchuan, as well as nearby cities such as Linhe and Baotou.
