The 5th China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held at the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai) from November 5, 2022 to November 10, 2022. The China International Import Expo is the world's first import-themed national exhibition.
A total of 145 countries, regions and international organizations participated in the CIIE. Enterprises from 127 countries and regions participated in the exhibition, and 66 countries and 3 international organizations participated in the National Comprehensive Exhibition, all of which exceeded the number of the previous exhibition. Eight countries, namely Nicaragua, Djibouti, Mauritania, Comoros, Mozambique, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iraq and Iceland, participated in the CIIE for the first time. Hundreds of new products, technologies and services were launched at the CIIE.
The Highlights of 2022 China International Import Expo
Food and Agricultural Products Exhibition Area: The food and agricultural products exhibition area has the largest number of exhibitors and the most extensive sources. The main companies have appeared in the exhibition, and all four grain merchants have participated in the exhibition. And the new crop seed area was added in 2022.
Automobile Exhibition Area: Fifteen of the world's top brand value automobile enterprises participated in the exhibition. For the first time, commercial vehicle section set up to focus on the low-carbon transformation of the automobile industry. Many brands exhibited new new energy vehicles.
Technology Equipment Exhibition Area: The technology equipment exhibition area has a new artificial intelligence area and an immersive experience area, covering seven application scenarios, including sports, office, industry, education, art, catering and entertainment. The zones for digital industrial automation and low-carbon energy and environmental protection optimized to display cutting-edge technologies and high-end equipment.
Consumer Goods Exhibition Area: The world's top ten cosmetics brands all appeared, the world's three high-end fashion consumer goods brands gathered together, focusing on the three directions of "new" life, "cool" technology.Medical Devices and Health Care Exhibition Area: Fifteen of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies gathered at the CIIE for the first time, and ten of the world's largest medical devices enterprises collectively took part in the exhibition. Especially in the subdivisions of radiotherapy, genetic testing, in vitro diagnosis, medical imaging, life science, kidney therapy and so on, the world's top enterprises participated in the exhibition with strong professionalism and high concentration.
Service Trade Exhibition Area: With the theme of "Helping the development of digital Trade, Creating a Green and low-carbon Future", it not only attracted a large number of leading enterprises from consulting services, freight forwarding logistics, international express delivery, supply chain and other industries, but also added entertainment games to the exhibition.

1. China has a huge market with rapid growth in consumption and imports
China, with the world's largest population, is the world's second largest economy and the second largest importer and consumer. China has entered a new stage of development where consumption continues to expand, with huge room for growth in consumption and import. In the next five years, China will import more than US $10 trillion of goods and services, providing a historic opportunity for companies from around the world to enter the big Chinese market.

The Turnover and the New Achievement of CIIE 2022
The value of intended transactions exceeded $73.5 billion, up 3.9 percent from the previous year. A total of 145 countries, regions and international organizations participated in the fifth CIIE, said Sun Chenghai, deputy director of CIIE Bureau. More than 2,800 enterprises from 127 countries and regions participated in the exhibition. A total of 438 representative new products, technologies and services were displayed, surpassing the previous level. The first digital platform attracted 368 technology and equipment enterprises to participate in the online exhibition, and organized 64 live or broadcast activities, which reached 600,000 page views. By 12 o 'clock on November 10, 461,000 people had visited the site.
Furthermore, from June 6 to 9, the CIIE held 94 launch events for four days in a row, and released more than 170 new products, including 71 global debuts, 34 Asian debuts and 66 Chinese debuts.
