The Layout of Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station

Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station is a large railway station with four commonly used floors, and here are some details about each floor:

  • B1 (subway arrival floor): subway station (Hongqiao Railway Station), four taxi stands (two to the south and two to the north), automatic ticket machines (only for Chinese ID cards), restaurants
  • F1: platforms
  • F2 (main floor): waiting areas, ticket offices, waiting hall, boarding gates
  • F3 (commercial floor): F3 is divided into two unconnected areas. It is a commercial floor with chain restaurants and shops. You can enjoy a quick meal on this floor after entering the main floor, F2.

  • On F2 and F3: Starbucks, McDonald's, KFC, BreadTalk, SUBWAY, Dicos,  Da Niang Dumpling, Burger King, etc.

Ticket Service at Hongqiao Station: Buy, Collect, Refund, Cancel, and Reschedule

There are two ticket halls at the station, one is in the center on F2 with 10 ticket offices (154 ticket windows in total), and the other is on B1 with four ticket windows.

  • Buy tickets: Find one of the ticket windows and hand in your passport to purchase a ticket. Read details: How to Buy a China Train Ticket?
  • Collect online booking tickets: Hand in your passport and your online booking pick-up number to collect your train tickets at one of these ticket windows. Working hours: 05:00-24:00
  • Refund, Cancel, and Reschedule: Go to ticket windows no. 80 to 92 Ticket Office 3 on F2 to submit one of these three requirements.

Luggage Storage Service

There are luggage storage offices located inside and outside the waiting area.

  • Inside the waiting area: There are two luggage storage offices located on both sides of the waiting area on F2.
  • Outside the waiting area: One luggage storage office at the West Entrance on B1.

Charge: 10 yuan for small luggage and 20 yuan for big luggage.

Luggage Porters

You can find the luggage porters on F2. They all wear a red cap or a red waistcoat.
You can ask them to carry your luggage to the train for you, and they usually charge 10 yuan for each piece of luggage.

Hongqiao Coach (West) Station

Hongqiao Coach Station is at the west side of the railway station and it’s located on B1. After getting off the train, you can go to B1 and follow the signs to reach the coach station (about 500 meters).

The airport is about 500 meters from the station. You can walk to Terminal 2 and take a subway train to reach Terminal 1:
