The construction of Badaling Changcheng Railway Station started in March 2016; The station was put into operation on Dec 30, 2019, as the Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway was completed and opened to traffic. 
Badaling Great Wall Station is located in The Badaling Great Wall Scenic spot in Yanqing, Beijing, with a total construction area of 49,500 square meters, which is divided into two parts: ground station and underground station, of which the ground station is 9,000 square meters and the underground station is 40,500 square meters. On the left of the station floor is the exit hall, connected to the entrance and exit channels, and on the right is the entrance hall, connected to the deeply buried station.
After the station opened, passengers needed to take two consecutive long lifts to get in and out of the station. The first lift connects the ground station to the waiting hall, which is located nine meters underground, and the second lift connects the waiting hall to the platform level further down. After exiting the station, passengers can walk for one to two minutes to take the cable car to the Badaling Great Wall.

The Introduction of Badaling Great Wall Scenic Spot


The Great Wall is the symbol and pride of the Chinese nation, but also the world's most magnificent ancient military defense project.  It was built in Yue Dynasty until Ming Dynasty.  Badaling Great Wall is the essence of the Great Wall of The Ming Dynasty, is the most outstanding representative section of the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty, its status of prominence, reputation, spectacular scenery, is any other section of the Great Wall cannot be replaced.
The Badaling section of the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty is the most essential section of the Great Wall architecture.  After many renovations, there are 3741 meters for sightseeing lots, including 1176 meters in the south and 2565 meters in the north. There are 16 enemy stations.  In March 1961, "The Great Wall - Badaling" was identified as one of the first national cultural relics protection units; In 1982, it was listed as a national key scenic spot. In 1986, it was rated as the top ten scenic spots in China.  In 1987, it was included in the World Cultural Heritage List by UNESCO; In 1995, the Badaling Great Wall was named the "National Patriotism Education Base" by the Chinese Working Committee on Caring for the Next Generation.  On May 8, 2007, Badaling Great Wall was officially approved by the National Tourism Administration as a national 5A tourist attraction.

Badaling Changcheng Climate


The Badaling Great Wall is located at the north entrance of Guangou Ancient Road in Jundu Mountain, Yanqing District, Beijing. The natural environment and geography here are the same as most of Yanqing. To the north is Yanqing Basin, to the east and south are rolling mountains, and to the west is the Guanting Reservoir.
Badaling area 80% of the area is the Yanshan Yumei Jundu Mountain, the terrain is high in the northwest, low in the east and west, mountains, deep valley far, the elevation of the most between 600-1240 meters, the average elevation of 780 meters, the top elevation of 1015 meters, the lowest is 105 meters, the highest peak of the Badaling Great Wall north eighth floor 888.8 meters.
 Vegetation coverage around Badaling Great Wall reaches 70%.  Abundant forest resources, complete vegetation protection.  Due to the warm temperate zone, the zonal vegetation is warm deciduous broad-leaved forest and coniferous forest under the influence of geographical position and special climate. Influenced by topography, climate, soil and other factors, there are a wide variety of plants and abundant vegetation types.
 The climate of Badaling region is basically the same as that of Yanqing Basin, which belongs to the transition of temperate zone and mid-temperate zone, semi-arid zone and humid zone, and the four seasons are very distinct. The annual average temperature is 11.8℃, the coldest January average temperature is -4.6℃, the hottest July average temperature is 26.1℃. The annual average temperature of Badaling is more than 3℃ lower than that of Beijing.
