2 Basic Tips about Beijing–Xi'an Trains

1. Two main train types:

  • There are 18 G-trains running from Beijing to Xi’an and from Xi’an to Beijing daily. The journey only takes about 4½–6 hours and costs 515.5 yuan for a second-class seat ticket.
  • Normal-speed Z/K/T-trains: There are nine normal-speed trains operating from Beijing to Xi’an and from Xi’an to Beijing daily. All the normal-speed trains are overnight trains. It takes about 12–16 hours and costs about 422.5 yuan for a soft sleeper ticket.

  • Zhengzhou East: Zhengzhou is the capital city of Henan Province. About 400 trains a day arrive at/depart from this station. Passengers can go to many major cities in China, such as Xi'an, Shanghai, Beijing, and Hangzhou.
  • Huashan North: If you want to travel to Mount Hua by high-speed train, Huashan North Railway Station will be your arrival station.
  • Luoyang Longmen: Luoyang is famous for the attraction called the Longmen Grottoes. So taking the high-speed train to Luoyang Longmen Railway Station is the most convenient way to get to the Longmen Grottoes.
