With the approaching of the Winter Olympics, the Taizicheng to Chongli section of Taixi Railway has entered the countdown, and the second railway station directly connecting Beijing North Railway Station to Chongli will be unveiled soon. It’s called Chongli Railway Station, which also plays an important role during 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games. Chongli Railway Station is located in The Cuiyun Mountain International Resort. After opening to traffic, it will allow all tourists to arrive at the station as soon as possible, and provide tourists from Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei with diversified vacation life experience.

Chongli Station is located near Dajiaogou Village, Chongli District. The building area of the station is 3499 square meters. The station has two platforms and three lines, with two platforms 13 meters and 12 meters wide respectively. The overall design of the station house is based on the design concept of "snow mountain wooden house". The symmetrical exterior design is extended to both sides by the pointed roof, and the wood-colored exterior is integrated with the local natural landscape. In the waiting room, lamps, glass panels and collision bars are all decorated with the pattern of a high-speed train crossing three peaks, which naturally integrates Chongli’s natural scenery and high-speed railway elements. The huge windows in the waiting room are bright and transparent. Standing in front of the windows, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the snowy mountains. Once completed, the project will connect Chongli District of Zhangjiakou and Taizicheng Winter Olympic Village in less than 10 minutes.

Taixi Railway-Taizicheng to Chongli Section

Taixi Railway is from Taizicheng to Xilihaote(锡林浩特). The Taixi Railway from Taizicheng to Chongli stretches a total length of 15.864 kilometers, including two tunnels totaling 14.434 kilometers, one bridge totaling 0.242 kilometers, and a bridge and tunnel totaling 14.678 kilometers. The section of Taixi Railway from Taizicheng to Chongli starts from the core area of Taizicheng Olympic Village in the south and ends at Chongli in the north, which is the only rail transport supporting project connecting the core area of the Winter Olympic Games and Chongli.

Layout of Chongli Railway Station

Chingli Railway Station has a pair of entrances and exits underground and above ground. Passengers can connect to the adjacent Chongli North Passenger Transport Hub through an underground corridor. Through the underground corridor, passengers can direct to the bus station, take urban and rural buses or urban bus lines. At the same time, there is a taxi riding area on the second floor underground. If you drive a private car to pick up passengers, the ground parking lot is located on the west side of the exit and can accommodate 199 private cars.

Chongli Climate

Chongli District is under the jurisdiction of Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, located in the northwest of Hebei Province, the transition zone between Inner Mongolia Plateau and North China plain. 80% of Chongli District is mountainous, with a forest coverage rate of 52.38%.

The climate of Chongli is a sub-temperate zone in the continental monsoon climate of East Asia. Due to the influence of the geographical location and terrain, the air activity in winter is frequent, the temperature in spring rises quickly, but the fluctuation is large, the frost period is late, the rainfall is less. Summer is cool and short, the temperature is relatively stable, the temperature difference between day and night is large. In autumn, the temperature drops rapidly and the first frost appears earlier. The average summer temperature in Chongli is 19℃, and the concentration of negative oxygen ions in the air reaches 10000 / cubic meter. The annual snow is about 1.5 meters, and the snow period is more than 150 days.

Located in Chongli District, Zhangjiakou, Yunding Ski Park A and B are the venues for freestyle skiing and snowboarding of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games and the venues are for the 2021 freestyle skiing and snowboarding World Championships of the International Snow Federation.
