The three ways to transfer from Guilin to Yangshuo are all convenient. As different people has different needs for transportation, I will explain which way is the best for you.
Guilin - Yangshuo Bullet Train for Family Travel
Taking a high speed train is good for family travel because it's easy to put large baggage in the cabinet. Children will feel comfortable on the train.
The train tickets are usually very popular. It's suggested to book your train tickets as early as possible before travel date.

Guilin Railway Station - Locates in City Downtown
Only train D8272 departs from Guilin Railway Station, which is the oldest station in Guilin. It locates in the city downtown, which is convenient for travelers that stay in Guilin city for a few days.

Guilin North (Bei) Railway Station was built in 2014, and now it becomes the main station in Guilin that operates the more high speed lines to other areas. Among the 18 bullets trains to Yangshuo, there are 8 trains depart from Guilin North Railway Station.

Guilin West (Xi) Railway Station - Remote from City Center
Guilin West (Xi) Railway Station
Guilin West (Xi) Railway Station is a new station that opened in 2019. It is larger than the other two stations. If you are setting off from the city center to Guilin West (Xi) Railway Station, it takes about 40 minutes by taxi.

Yangshuo Railway Station is not located in Yangshuo County, but in a nearby town called Xingping (about an hour’s drive to West Street, Yangshuo), which is also a beautiful traveling destination.

Guilin - Yangshuo Bus for Budget Travel
Taking a coach to Yangshuo from Guilin takes about 70 minutes. More than 80 buses are available from Guilin South Bus Station to Yangshuo Bus Station daily.

Guilin - Yangshuo Boat for Slow Travel
Why it’s called slow travel? Because you will spend about 5 hours on the cruise on the Li River from Guilin to Yangshuo, enjoying the beautiful mountains and rivers.
The cost of a boat ticket is higher than a train or a bus ticket. And you need to reserve seat with your passport at least one day before your departure date.
