  • Shenzhen North – Hong Kong: There are more than 30 high-speed trains running from Shenzhen North Railway Station to Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station. The journey takes about 20 minutes and it costs 75 yuan for a second-class ticket.
  • Futian – Hong Kong: There are over 20 high-speed trains running from Futian Railway Station to Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station. The journey takes about 15 minutes and it costs 68 yuan for a second-class ticket.

2. Passing Through a Port from Shenzhen to Hong Kong

There are nine ports in Shenzhen with routes to Hong Kong. You need to go through the customs procedures with your passport at the port you depart from. Here are the basic steps:
1. Go through the China exit immigration process first.
2. Follow the signs to go through the Hong Kong immigration inspection.

Here is some basic information about each port:

  • Luohu Port (罗湖口岸): 500 meters to Shenzhen Railway Station; there are many passengers during holidays
  • Futian Port (福田口岸): It’s convenient for travelers who live around the Futian and Longhua districts. It might be crowded during holidays.
  • Huanggang Port (皇岗口岸): It’s located in Futian District. Since many tour groups choose this port to go to Hong Kong, the customs clearance process is very slow.
  • Shenzhen Bay Port (深圳湾口岸): It’s located in Nanshan District in Shenzhen, and it’s convenient to reach Tuen Mun (HK) via this port.
  • Wenjin Du Port (文锦渡口岸): It’s located in Yantian District in Shenzhen, and you can take the bus to Hong Kong Disneyland and Hong Kong International Airport from this port.
  • Shatou Jiao Port (沙头角口岸): It’s located in Yantian District and accommodates very few passengers.
  • Fuyong Port (福永口岸): It’s located in Bao’an District, just 2 kilometers from Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport.
  • Shekou Port (蛇口口岸): It’s located in Nanshan District and accommodates very few passengers.
  • Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport: It’s located in Bao’an District and has long-distance buses operating to Hong Kong.

  • Location: Luohu District
  • Opening hours: 06:30–00:00
  • Available buses to Luohu Port: 12, 17, 101, 205, 215, M106, M112
  • Metro line: 1 (leave from Exit A2)

Luohu Port is the oldest port in Shenzhen. Due to its convenient location (500 meters to Shenzhen Railway Station), many passengers choose it to get to Hong Kong, especially during the holidays.

>>> Huanggang Port
  • Opening hours: 24/7 service
  • Available buses to Huanggang Port: 9, 23, 26, 109, 235, 313, 325, 357, 362, 366, 367
  • Metro line: 7 (leave from Exit D)

Huanggang Port is located in Futian District. The most special point to note is that Huanggang Port is open 24 hours a day. However, the customs clearance process is slow there.

  • Opening hours: 06:30–22:30
  • Available buses to Futian Port: 52, 91, 203, M204, M347
  • Metro line: 4

Futian Port is inside Futian Railway Station. Since it’s in the center of the city, many passengers choose it to get to Hong Kong.

3.By Long-Distance Bus

Six ports in Shenzhen provide a cross-border bus, so you can take the bus to many places in Hong Kong.
Below is the basic process:

  1. Depart from your preferred port in Shenzhen.
  2. You will be asked to take the cross-border bus and then to disembark from it at the halfway point of your journey.
  3. After steps 1 and 2, you can take the bus to many famous places in Hong Kong, such as Zuodun (佐敦), Lok Ma Chau (落马洲), Shanghuan (上环), Hong Kong Disneyland, and Austin Road.

Passnegers need to get off the bus at the halfway and go through Hong Kong Immigration Inspection. After undergoing some customs procedures, you can take the bus to many places in Hong Kong.

  • Shenzhen Bay Port: to Hong Kong International Airport, Shanghuan, Zuodun (佐敦), Sun Tuen Mun Centre (新屯门中心)
  • Wenjin Du Port: to Tsim Sha Tsui (尖沙咀), China Ferry Terminal
  • Shatou Jiao Port: to Hong Kong International Airport, Kowloon
  • Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport: to Tsim Sha Tsui, Shanghuan, Tuen Mun, Causeway Bay

You can also choose to take a long-distance bus from Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport. Over 200 buses operate to Hong Kong, departing between 08:15 and 22:00. You can travel to Causeway Bay, Sheung Wan, Tsim Sha Tsui, and so on from there.
The journey takes about 50 minutes and costs 85 yuan.

4. By Ferry

  • Route: Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport (Fuyong Port, 福永口岸)–Hongkong International Airport
  • Times: 08:35, 11:30, 15:30, 18:30
  • Duration: about 40 minutes
  • Price: 250 yuan for a tourist class ticket

Fuyong Port is only 2 kilometers from Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport. The opening hours at Fuyong Port are 07:30 to 21:30.

This method is suitable for passengers arriving at Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport and going on to Hong Kong International Airport.

5. By Metro

  • Route: Luohu station (罗湖站) to Hunghom Kowloon station
  • Opening hours: 06:30--00:00

If you want to go to Hung Hom Station from Shenzhen, the best way is to take the Metro East Rail Line (東鐵綫) from Luohu Station.
This line also passes through many major stations, including Lok Ma Chau (落馬洲), Sheung Shui (上水), and Mong Kok East (旺角東).
